Mosquito season in Ontario typically begins in late April or early May when temperatures consistently exceed 10°C. Peak activity runs from June through August. The season extends into September and sometimes early October in southern Ontario, particularly in years with warm falls. Blacklegged tick nymphs — the most dangerous stage for Lyme disease transmission — are most active from May through July in Ontario.
